SOFT SPACE
Soft Space is a site specific installation created for 500X Gallery in Dallas, Texas. Placing a fifty foot linen drawing between the staircases in response to the sites daily movement, the space is transformed to create a unique experience. Layers in space beyond the fabric border generate an immersive atmosphere that pushes the boundary between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional realms. This work considers architectural space not only for installation layout but also creation of marks which reference ideas of space, light, sound, and motion. The installation is intended to highlight underlying structures of space and the viewer’s place within that network.
